Jordana Spiro has set to appear on the TV series Dexter next season. The sixth season of the Showtime series will explore Dexter's struggle to find something to pass onto his son besides his Dark Passenger. With faith among the things he's exploring, Dexter will come across Professor Gellar, a renowned professor of religious study, and Travis, an antiquities restorer at the Miami Museum. Spiro will play one of their acolytes. TVLine.com first reported her casting.

The 34-year-old actress joins Season 6's growing cast, which includes Mos, Billy Brown and Aimee Garcia.

The DVDs on Dexter next season will release on Sunday, Oct. 2.
